Environment Journalism Award - 2005

Nepal Forum of Environment Journalists (NEFEJ) has decided to award the Environment Journalism Award - 2005 to journalist Ramesh Kumar Poudel of the Nepali-language daily Chitwan Post, published from Chitwan. The award, which has been awarded every year for the last 20 years to a journalist for outstanding achievement in this field, carries a purse of Rs. 25,000 and a citation.

Journalist Poudel has been given this award on the basis of investigative researches, originality, relevance, presentation and consistency in his published articles.

A three-member panel of journalists Binod Bhattarai and Mohan Mainali and environment expert Dr. Mukesh Chalise decided to award him. The award will be presented to him in the next general assembly of NEFEJ scheduled for later this year.

Twenty-year-old Poudel has been involved in journalism for the last six years. He is the 19th journalist to be awarded the Environment Journalism Award instituted by NEFEJ.
