NNSD conducted a local level capacity building training in Biratnagar, the eastern development region in Nepal. The basic objectives of the training were to build the capacity of the civil society in the issues of MDG, to make them aware of their roles in the MDG process and to sensitize them on the role of media and networking in overall development.

There were in total 35 participants representing local CBOs and Media. Mr. Dilip Kafle was the training coordinator. Mr. Jeevan Bahadur Shahi/ the NNSD preseident, Mr. Tirtha Koirala, Mr. Sahaj Man Shakya/ President NEFEJ and Ms. Babina Kharel were the resource persons for the 2 days long training.

The training primarily focused on the issues of Decentralization in Development, Media and Development, Advocacy and Networking, MDGs and the role of Civil Society, Participatory approach for meeting the MDGs.
