International Institute of Journalism Berlin –Brandenburg (IIJB) had designed a course of training (TOT) which is being used in the training of Nepalese photojournalists since April, 2009. “Training of Trainers for Photojournalists” was organized by IIJB in co-operation with Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the Media Training Center (MTC) under Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ).

The course was designed by IIJB Berlin following a deal reached between the Media Training Center (MTC) under Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) in the run up to the training of trainers (TOT) from Nepal. MTC had selected five photojournalists from leading media organizations of Kathmandu to avail the training in Berlin which was conducted through March 16- April 3, 2009 in Berlin. IIJB had provided participants both assistance in learning teaching and training methods and in exchange of experience with colleagues in Germany.
The participants were Jitendra Raj Bajrachayra (NEFEJ), Chandra Shaker Kakri (Nepal Photo Agency), Bimal Chandra Sharma (Informal Sector Service Center), Siddhartha Shakya (freelance video producer), Narendra Shrestha and Mukunda Bogati (both Kantipur)
The participants have found that the course was indeed designed to boost "the interest, capability and professional competence of both experienced and aspiring photojournalists."
