Media Training Centre (MTC), a training center of Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ), organized five days long Photojournalism: Digital Photography Workshop on ‘Peace Process and Local Communities’ in Dharan, Sunsari from June 1-5, 2011. Mr. Sahaj Man Shrestha, MTC coordinator led the workshop.
Main objectives of the workshop was to enhance technical ideas and photographic skills of local media person on digital photography and to tell story of peace process and local community through pictures. It is expected, the workshop helped participants to learn about visual literacy and value of picture in media and how photography skill will support to process of building peace in the community. It helped them to develop their skills in handling digital camera, archiving digital pictures and digital dark room to publish their picture in different media. Participants gave positive response that the workshop helped them to understand technical jargons of digital photography.MTC also conducted a discussion program with Labor leaders, Radio Journalists and Civil Society members. The Program was focused on identification of labour issues and how the radio has been dealing the labor issues. In the program labour issues have been identified to overcome present labour problems.
Both Photojournalism: Photography workshop and discussion program were conducted with support from Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (RSL), Germany.

Media Training Centre (MTC) of Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) organized three days training on "Environment Journalism on theme of Urban Solid Waste Management" in Kathmandu.
The objective of the training was to develop knowledge and skills of journalist to sensitize the issue of urban solid waste management.
International Institute of Journalism Berlin –Brandenburg (IIJB) had designed a course of training (TOT) which is being used in the training of Nepalese photojournalists since April, 2009. “Training of Trainers for Photojournalists” was organized by IIJB in co-operation with Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the Media Training Center (MTC) under Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ).
