

Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) drew attention of the government at the need to protect the rights of the people to enjoy clean and healthy surrounding by attending the garbage generated in the city without any delay.
The statement issued by NEFEJ on July 26 read, " The disposal of garbage from the capital has stopped since the last one week. NEFEJ seeks to draw the attention of the government to do the needful."
NEFEJ had in the statement also made it clear that it was not in the fitness of things to politicize what is basically a civic duty and adds up to non-compliance to the Article 16 of the interim constitution.
The statement issued by NEFEJ President Dhurba Basnet read," The responsible agency cannot shun the job even if the reason is that the people around landfill sight have protested. Government agencies cannot be playing with the health of the people."
