The Tourism Watch Program has been organized to look into the impact of tourism on environment and to promote eco-tourism for sustainable development in the country. Although relatively a new group, it has held few programs to bring the related problems in sharp focus. In this connection, an interaction program was held on the conservation of rhododendron and orchids of Makwanpur district. The program was held in a picturesque town of Daman in Makwanpur. The group also organized a discussion on the condition of the Prithvi Highway, which is the main land route connecting the capital with rest of the country. It caters to the overland tourism traffic. The Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Association of Travel Agents are cooperating with the group. This group is looking forward to remain active
in finding solutions to the problems faced by the tourism sector, especially in the environmental aspects.
