P.M Nepal Launched CRSC/NEFEJ New Publication

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal had launched a book entitled "Communities Challenging Climate Change" on June 5, World Environment Day program organized in Kathmandu.

The book was launched by Prime Minister Nepal in special program organized by Ministry of Environment to mark the world environment day.

CRSC/NEFEJ Coordinator Raghu Mainali said that our organization would thank the government of Nepal for recognizing the book as a milestone activity of study of climate change in Nepal.

The authors of the book are Dr. Madan Koirala and Ms. Ranjana Bhatt.

The book is the outcome of one year pilot project launched by CRSC of NEFEJ in 2009.
Jiten_100605_DSC9807The aim of the project was to examine the effectiveness when community radio and local NGOs undertake joint actions to enhance understanding of the communities in complex issues like climate change and its adaptation to the adverse impact of it.

The program was launched in Kavre, Baglung, Khotang, Taplejung and Kailali districts.
