KATHMANDU: The development and publication of Community Radio Performance Assessment System (CR-PAS) gained further publicity at the AMARC Asia Pacific Second Regional Conference on February 22 in the Indian city of Bangaluru.

That is because it was the forum where CR-PAS was launched internationally amid the participation of who's who of the world of community radio movement from around the world.

The publication, which has attracted rave international review, was launched by

AMRC International President Steve Buckly who famously said, ""It is yet another pioneering work from Nepal to the world."

The launch was followed by a presentation by Raghu Mainali, a lead author of the book which was followed by floor discussion. The event also saw AMARC Asia Pacific General Assembly coming up with a resolution appealing that the regional boards "must take step for the assessment of community radio and encourage radio stations for the assessment."

Essentially speaking CR-PAS is a tool to assess the all round performance and structure of community radio stations based on over 60 indicators.
