KATHMANDU: Representative of Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) and two other organizations working in the area of environment conservation today met with Speaker of the Constituent Assembly Subas Nembang and Chairman of the Constitutional Committee Nilambar Acharya in connection with the formation of the Environmental Commission, press release said.

The delegation was represented by Chairman of Save Environment Campaign Badri Khatiwada and NEFEJ President Dhurba Basnet apart from FECOFUN central member Apsara Chapagain. The delegation impressed upon Nembang and Acharya about the need to form the commission.

The organizations have demanded that the commission was essential for arresting the degrading environment apart from demanding that the new constitution must guarantee 40 percent of the land under dense forest cover, press release further said.
