Pramod Tandon gets Environmental Journalism Award

Pramod Tandon, a young and upcoming environmental journalist, received the Environmental Journalism Award 2010, established by NEFEJ, for his continuous effort in sensitizing the issues of environmental conservation and sustainable development in Rajdhani daily. Journalist Tandon is currently associated with Naya Patrika daily. Minister for Environment Hemraj Tated handed over the award to Tandon, along with a citation and cash prize of Rs. 25,000. Minister Tated, while addressing the function, praised the role played by NEFEJ in creating public awareness on environment and development and expressed his willingness to work with NEFEJ in the coming days. Journalist Tandon said the award has further encouraged him to continue writing on environmental issues.

    UNESCO has awarded IPDC prize for Rural Communication 2012 to Community Radio Support Centre (CRSC), a wing of Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ).

    UNESCO decided to award IPDC prize for rural communication jointly to CRSC/NEFEJ and Arid Lands Information Network (Kenya).
